The
Seminole Pro Tour @ Hammerheads Billiards
|
|
|
10.08.2007...Just
getting back to the shop from The Seminole Pro Tour event at
Hammerheads Billiards in Holiday, Florida...what a fantastic
room!!! First, let me tell you about the the tournament...63
players competing for a piece of the $9,000 added pot. Thank
you to the Seminole Tribe for supporting pool!!!
Congratulations to Stevie Moore from Atlanta for winning from the
losers bracket defeating Brian Brekke from Minnesota...double hill
no less!!! Corey Deuel came in third.

Now, lets talk about the pool room...
Most apparent was the functionality of the room as both a players
room as well as a room designed to cater to the not so
serious. This place was cavernous, and very well
executed. Owner Dan Lavoie is a great player as well as a heck
of a carpenter and host to what will no doubt become one of the
premier stops on the Seminole Florida Pro Tour. Hammerheads is
approximately 15,000 square feet, with 24 Diamond tables.

You
can imagine the amount of space surrounding the tables with this
much footage. Accompanying the decor are two full bars custom
made by Dan himself of oak and beautifully finished.
Everything in the place was custom made by Dan, minus the tables and
video games. Very high ceilings and at least 6 huge smoke
eaters assured a better environment than most. There was also
an elevated area overlooking the serious players area that provided
excellent views of all the action. Locals no doubt are very
lucky to have such a nice room to visit regularly. I cannot
wait to see what else Dan has in store for the future!
