For those of you who do not play or live on the East Coast, let me tell you a little about David Smith. Dave began playing when he was 9 years old, after falling in love with pool. Later in life, Dave received a BS degree in Mathematics from Mississippi College. After accepting employment with the Department of the Navy, David moved to Dalghren, VA, where he resides with his wife Debbie, and their daughter Maggie. David began playing competitive pool upon his arrival from the deep south and has been a major force ever since. In 1994, David left the Department of the Navy, to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional pool player.
